I have also been involved in other art projects, for myself and others. I am very adept at solving artistic “problems”. Get in touch if you think I could help you with your artistic dilemma!
I volunteered to paint 160 full size fake elephant tusks (and an elephant skeleton) for a show garden at Hampton Court. It was obviously a success because someone complained that ivory had been used!
Signwriting. It’s an old art now, but nonetheless, there is still the need for certain items. Like this house sign which had decayed beyond belief. Easy to replace, but not easy to replicate. So I prepared the sign and repainted the lettering exactly as it had been previously, even though it wasn’t perfectly right in the first place! It still looks good many years later.
Another art fix I have done is to replace a window with a fake brick wall! My builder couldn’t do this repair because they couldn’t get the right bricks, so they just filled the gap with cement, much to my disgust. After they went home, I sculptured the cement before it dried, then painted fake bricks on top. This wasn’t the best job because it was a terrible rush, but that was 7 years ago, and it still looks perfect. This demonstrates my creativity at its best.
Another thing I do is to balance stones. I guess the connection is having good hand-eye coordination and determination.
A 25kg stone. Notice the £1 coin for comparison!
